Be MindFull is evolving – not into something entirely new, just a more refined version of itself, plus we have a new look!

Hello, Founder Maddie here.

Be Mindfull is where all my worlds finally collide. A childhood raised on a beef cattle and cropping farm in Central West NSW, an appreciation of where food really comes from, a decade spent in marketing, communication and design, a small business owner and now studying nutrition while raising a family who cares deeply about wholefood and sustainable living. Be Mindfull is work that feels like home.

Be MindFull was initially established during a 3 month break in Vietnam and Sri Lanka in 2025. Let me tell you a story.

At the end of our trip, we spent just over 3 weeks in Sapa, a small village up in the North of Vietnam near the Chinese border known for terraced rice fields and dramatic mountains. We stayed at a homestay about 8kms out of Sapa up in the mountains. We’d hired a manual 100cc bike, snaking around the mountains with spectacular views before making the climb up the steep, rocky, dirt track to our homestay.

Our homestay was run by So, a traditional Hmong Village woman. So told us that she used to have a family farm but sold it to get the money to build the homestay. They started building in 2019, then COVID hit leaving them with a half-built home, no income, no savings. Amazingly they managed to finish it in 2022 - a gorgeous traditional pine homestay, nestled in the mountains called Moung Hoa Eco Villa.

It was rice planting season during our visit. Most of the farming is still done manually, and on few instances where a machine is used it's very physically taxing. During our stay, we watched dry, rice beds knotted with weeds transition into glistening pools with vibrant green shoots scattered across the reflection. I learnt the process of turning over the mud using a buffalo or a rice ploughing machine, dragging heavy machinery or buffalo from pool to pool. Once it's ploughed, a man uses a long hoe to smooth the surface. After its prepared, they irrigate it by flooding each pool to the top. The whole family gets involved in planting. Bright shirts, pants rolled up to their knees, barefoot and bent over planting individual shoots, one after the other. Babies tucked into bright cloth carriers on their mother’s backs, toddlers sitting under an umbrella on the side of the field for hours without boredom or misbehaving and a small boy, only about 8 or so jackhammering a new terrace.

I watched this dance for just over two weeks from our accommodation and was absolutely mesmerised. It got me thinking, everyone has a story.

Since then, we’ve started our own little family. I often still think about the families we met overseas, incredibly happy despite not having much - something I think we can all strive a little more for. Sharing experiences means these stories aren’t forgotten and it makes me grateful for these adventures and our life here in Aussie.

Now, Be Mindfull is here to help you tell your story. Whether you’re a café serving local, whole-foods, a small farm, paddock-to-plate brand, or somewhere in between, we’d love to work with you. My partner and I are passionate about helping you be seen, heard and truly understood.

When you’re ready, get in touch – whether it’s by requesting a quote or via the contact page. We look forward to meeting you and hearing your story.

Take care,

Maddie
