Australians are becoming more health conscious due to a range of factors. Health conditions are increasing with data indicating eight in ten people had at least one long-term health condition. There is growing interest in health and wellness meaning education and awareness is becoming more accessible. A quick look in Google Trends will soon reveal that in the last 10 years key word searches like ‘gut health’, ‘fitness’, ‘microbiome’, ‘meditation’ and ‘pilates’ have increased.

Health apps are also on the rise. Although it’s hard to know exactly how many now exist, we know it’s in the tens of thousands. Wearable health technology is another contributor which has evolved significantly giving us the option to monitor our activity, heart health, sleep, stress, hydration, air quality and more, 24/7.
Australians are now proactively seeking ways to manage their own health as well as the health of their families and workplaces. This is a huge opportunity for businesses in the sector and it’s becoming increasingly important to stand out, get attention fast and connect with your clients.
So how can you do this?
Get attention:
Have you Googled your businesses lately? What comes up? If you’re targeting people in your local area make sure your digital presence is up to date. This includes your Google listing as well as your social media accounts and website. When everyone is time poor, investing in these tools helps people find you easily.
Create engaging content so when someone lands on your website or social media page it is simple for them to understand what you do and spend some time there. We only have a few seconds to get attention so make a good first impression.
Stand out:
What separates you from your competition? Do you communicate this? Letting your clients know what makes you unique should be front and center in your marketing tactics. Be authentic in how you describe your business and what problem your business will solve for them. Afterall, there’s nobody like you.
Innovations and trends are forever changing which means there are always fresh ways to promote your business. Think outside the box and be open to adopting new technologies and ways of working. It doesn’t have to be all digital. Take advantage of networking and word of mouth opportunities or consider hosting workshops or webinars.
Connect with your clients:
Brand association simply put is how your clients feel about your brand. When done well, it builds brand loyalty, enhances credibility and reach and can heavily influence purchase decisions. There are lots of ways to do this including:
building a strong online community
collaboration with influencers
implementing a referral program where loyal customers receive an incentive
co-branding or partnering with another business to promote a product, service or event or
simply offering exceptional customer service.
